Alpenglühen
Longing for the mountains – We may approach this traditional theme light-heartedly and jovially, while still recognising the profound force of connecting with nature.
The artwork Alpenglühen has its roots in my contribution to a gallery exhibition entitled Der Berg ruft (The Mountain Calls). When I discovered a beautiful landscape painting in an antique shop, I had the idea of adding a neon line along the outline of the mountains. The result turned out to be a striking piece, reflecting both the sublimity and the fragility of nature. Let us remain mindful that we are merely guests on this beautiful planet.
The search for divinity in nature has always been an essential driver of my work. The new installations are based on subtle variations of mountain views, realized as fine art print originals, neon, frameworks and profiler spots.
