Alps-Pop
Longing for the mountains – we may be lighthearted and jovial about this traditional theme while still recognising that connecting with nature is a strong motivation for our design work.
The artwork Alpenglühen has its roots in my contribution to a gallery event entitled Der Berg ruft (The Mountain Calls). When I found a beautiful mountain landscape painting in an antique shop, I had the idea to checker it with a humorous “alps-pop” by implementing a neon line along the outline of the mountains. The result turned out to be a really strong work about the sublimity of nature – even with a slight twinkle in the eye. The search for divinity in nature is always an essential driver for our work. Let’s focus on our individual contributions to preserving this world in a good condition for future generations.
